1. Christian One-Liners!

DON'T LET YOUR WORRIES GET THE BEST OF YOU, REMEMBER, MOSES STARTED OUT AS A BASKET CASE

MANY FOLKS WANT TO SERVE GOD, BUT ONLY AS ADVISERS.

IT IS EASIER TO PREACH TEN SERMONS THAN IT IS TO LIVE ONE.

THE GOOD LORD DIDN'T CREATE ANYTHING WITHOUT A PURPOSE, BUT MOSQUITOES COME CLOSE.

WHEN YOU GET TO YOUR WIT'S END, YOU'LL FIND GOD LIVES THERE.

PEOPLE ARE FUNNY; THEY WANT THE FRONT OF THE BUS, THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, AND THE BACK OF THE CHURCH.

OPPORTUNITY MAY KNOCK ONCE, BUT TEMPTATION BANGS ON YOUR FRONT DOOR FOREVER.

QUIT GRIPING ABOUT YOUR CHURCH; IF IT WAS PERFECT, YOU COULDN'T BELONG.

IF THE CHURCH WANTS A BETTER PASTOR, IT ONLY NEEDS TO PRAY FOR THE ONE IT HAS.

GOD HIMSELF DOES NOT PROPOSE TO JUDGE A MAN UNTIL HE IS DEAD. SO WHY SHOULD YOU?

SOME MINDS ARE LIKE CONCRETE, THOROUGHLY MIXED UP AND PERMANENTLY SET.

PEACE STARTS WITH A SMILE.

A LOT OF CHURCH MEMBERS WHO ARE SINGING "STANDING ON THE PROMISES" ARE JUST SITTING ON THE PREMISES.

WE WERE CALLED TO BE WITNESSES, NOT LAWYERS OR JUDGES.

BE YE FISHERS OF MEN. YOU CATCH THEM. HE'LL CLEAN THEM.

COINCIDENCE IS WHEN GOD CHOOSES TO REMAIN ANONYMOUS.

DON'T PUT A QUESTION MARK WHERE GOD PUT A PERIOD.

DON'T WAIT FOR 6 STRONG MEN TO TAKE YOU TO CHURCH.

FORBIDDEN FRUITS CREATE MANY JAMS.

GOD DOESN'T CALL THE QUALIFIED, HE QUALIFIES THE CALLED.

GOD GRADES ON THE CROSS, NOT THE CURVE.

GOD LOVES EVERYONE, BUT PROBABLY PREFERS "FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT" OVER "RELIGIOUS NUTS!"

GOD PROMISES A SAFE LANDING, NOT A CALM PASSAGE.

HE WHO ANGERS YOU, CONTROLS YOU!

IF GOD IS YOUR COPILOT - SWAP SEATS!

PRAYER: DON'T GIVE GOD INSTRUCTIONS -- JUST REPORT FOR DUTY!

THE TASK AHEAD OF US IS NEVER AS GREAT AS THE POWER BEHIND US.

THE WILL OF GOD WILL NEVER TAKE YOU TO WHERE THE GRACE OF GOD WILL NOT PROTECT YOU.

WE DON'T CHANGE THE MESSAGE, THE MESSAGE CHANGES US.

YOU CAN TELL HOW BIG A PERSON IS BY WHAT IT TAKES TO DISCOURAGE HIM.

"GOD, BLESS MY FRIENDS READING THIS IN WHATEVER IT IS THAT YOU KNOW THEY NEED"

2. The Canoe race!

A Japanese company and an American company decided to have a canoe race
on the Missouri River. Both teams practiced long and hard to reach their
peak performance before the race.

On the big day, the Japanese won by a mile. The Americans, very
discouraged and depressed, decided to investigate the reason for the
crushing defeat.

A management team made up of senior management was formed to investigate
and recommend appropriate action. Their conclusion was the Japanese had eight
people rowing and one person steering, while the American team had eight
people steering and one person rowing.

So American management hired a consulting company and paid them a large
amount of money for a second opinion. They advised that too many people
were steering the boat, while not enough people were rowing.

To prevent another loss to the Japanese, the rowing team's management
structure was totally reorganized to four steering supervisors, three
area steering superintendents and one assistant superintendent steering
manager.

They also implemented a new performance system that would give the one
person rowing the boat greater incentive to work harder. It was called
the "Rowing Team Quality First Program", with meetings, dinners and free
pens for the rower.

There was discussion of getting new paddles, canoes and other equipment,
extra vacation days for practices and bonuses.

The next year the Japanese won by two miles. Humiliated, the American
management laid off the rower for poor performance, halted development of a
new canoe, sold the paddles and canceled all capital investments for new
equipment.

The money saved was distributed to the Senior Executives as bonuses, and
the next year's racing team was outsourced to India.

3. The Global Village!

FOOD:

The global village of 100 people has many animals that are a source of food. There are:

31 sheep

23 cows, bull, oxen

15 pigs

3 camels

2 horses

189 chickens

There is no shortage of food in the global village. If it were divided equally everyone would have enough food to eat. But the food isn’t divided equally:

60 people always go hungry and of these, 26 are severely undernourished.

16 people go to bed hungry some of the time.

24 people have enough to eat.

EDUCATION:

There are 38 people in the global village who are of school age, but only 31 go to school.

88 people are old enough to read and of these, 71 can read at least a little, 18 cannot read at all.

In the global village of 100 there are 5 soldiers, 7 teachers, 1 doctor

NATIONALITY:

The village people come from all over the world. There are

61 from Asia

13 from Africa

12 from Europe

8 from South and Central America

5 from North America

1 from Oceania

RELIGION:

12 Shamanists, animists, and other folk religions

6 Buddhists

2 belong to global religions such as Confucianism

1 Jew

15 non-religious

AIR AND WATER:

In most of the village the air and water is healthy and clean, but in some areas it is polluted, which is unhealthy for villagers. Water is also in short supply for some people.

75 people have access to safe water in their homes or within a short distance.

25 people must spend a large part of each day collecting safe water.

Sanitation:

60 people have access to public and household sewage control.

Air:

68 people breathe in clean air

32 people breathe in polluted air

Only half of the children in the village are immunized against infectious diseases.

4. Insights from Bill Gates!

Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.

Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!

Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping; they called it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

If you can read this - Thank a teacher!

If you are reading it in English - Thank a soldier!!
